What is Meditation?
Meditation isn't about having nothing in your head, you don't need to levitate or sit in silence for hours. The goal of meditation is to create a space of calm, where your mind is quieter and you can choose to let your thoughts flow past without affecting you.
How do we Meditate?
There are lots of different ways of entering a feeling of calm and balance. Some people like to have a particular quiet place and light candles. Other people grab 5 minutes to sit down with a cup of tea, or enjoy time in nature, even walking in the garden. Different things work for different people. This series of videos will give you the prompts to mindfully become aware of what thoughts are taking up space in your mind. You can listen anywhere at any time, even in the car on the way to work. The prompts are designed to consider throughout the rest of the day, working towards relaxation while you get on with other things.
What are the benefits of Meditating?
Regular meditation has been shown to lower stress, increase wellbeing and promote healing. As well as reducing anxiety, these meditations have been designed to support you to increase compassion for yourself and create more time for you to increase clarity and relaxation.
